Beauty and The Beast
This set of images was taken on the same day (the 5th of November 2023) in a two hour period on Sandymount Strand and the Shelly Banks.  I have titled the panel 'Beauty and the Beast'.  The sunrise had little colour due to the cloud formation.  Careful planning, looking at the weather maps and other apps may have resulted in me staying in bed for a Sunday lie on.  But, I was glad to be out in the cold fresh air and decided to explore nature and the beauty it offers us.  After taking the initial image, I changed lens and walked along with a 100-500mm zoom lens.  I looked closely and noticed the detail in the shells and the pattern the waves and I observed flocks of birds looking for breakfast.  However, I was also shocked by the effect of man.  As you will see from the panel, mankind has left a mark on our beautiful coastline.  From the smoke of the incinerator to the numerous items carelessly thrown along the beach, the beast rears it's ugly head.

I was surprised to see this octapus, but saddened to see it struggling in the shallow water. Hopefully the tide returned in time. I felt that I would do more harm by trying to move it. Nature is resilient and man can do more harm than good.
